Chinese Medicine & Yin Yoga workshops [completed]

Jensen will be conducting a series of Chinese Medicine inspired workshops with Physician Goh You Li in February 2020. This course is designed to equip practitioners with the basic knowledge of the meridian network system (经络系统) in our body. We will also explore the holistic principle of wellness of Chinese Medicine (整体观), such as the Yin-Yang (阴阳学说), 5 elements (五行学说), and Zang-Fu theories (藏象). Practitioners will get to understand the pathways of these meridians as the main transport system for chi-blood (气血) in the body, and when the system is disrupted, organs will not perform their functions and imbalance of the body arises. The course also seeks to allow practitioners to incorporate these knowledge in complementing and enhancing their yin practice. In addition, relevant acupoints and acupressure techniques will also be shared in each module. Lesson format: 90min theory; 30min Q&A; 60 min Yin yoga practice

We are excited to share that Be.Live Practice will be heading to Siem Reap, Cambodia next year for our next retreat! Join us on a 5D4N get away to take time off your daily hustle and bustle. Self care begins with putting aside time for yourself, and simply do “nothing”.

We will be staying at Navutu Dreams resort. Located in the Kingdom of Cambodia and minutes away from the magical temples of Angkor, Navutu Dreams offers an upscale, boutique resort in a peaceful setting.

The programme each day typically starts with an energizing morning practice, followed by healthy breakfast spread prepared by the kitchen. Plenty of time for you to mingle and enjoy the facilities of the resort during the day. We will end each day with a rejuvenating Yin practice. And of course, we will get to visit The Angkor Wat complex of temples – a Unesco World Heritage Site on one of the days. It is considered the pinnacle of ancient Khmer architecture, art and civilization, and it is also the most important archaeological site of South East Asia.

Spine Anatomy & Yin Yoga

Spine anatomy Yin Yoga

We are excited to have Bryan Ng back to conduct a workshop on Spine Anatomy & Yin Yoga on 1 September 2019 (Sunday) 9am – 12pm. This is the second of a 3-part series workshop to better understand our body through Yin Yoga.

The spine is the central vertebral column providing for mobility and integrity of the trunk. Many yoga poses, especially back bends and twists, require flexibility in our spinal joints that are largely influenced by skeletal and bone shape variations. Common conditions such as scoliosis, arthritis and ‘slipped discs’ may require modifications in yoga practice. This workshop aims to equip students with a clear understanding of spinal anatomy to learn how to work the spine safely in yin yoga. Students will also practise together a a guided Yin Yoga sequence that works the spine in a balanced way.
